Walk Smart teaches a number of key skills for child pedestrian safety:

  • Identify dangerous vehicles in a variety of intersections
  • Identify when it's safe to cross a simulated intersection (traffic signal changes, no cars that can turn)
  • Identify dangerous vehicles when walking on a sidewalk or roadside

 

 

Bike Smart teaches these important cycling safety skills:

  • Identify dangerous vehicles in a variety of intersections
  • Identify hazards to riders (e.g., car doors, obstacles on sidewalk)
  • Know when to slow down (e.g., traffic signals of all kinds)
  • Discriminate proper and improper use of helmets
  • Recognize when it's safe to cross intersections
